The son of a legendary Jomsviking, Winter sought to follow in his father's legacy when he joined raiders in the lands of his ancestors. Even though it may have cost him his life, he was determined to walk the path laid before him. So, with the aid of his brothers-in-arms, they raided the British Isles and parts of Europe for years, until they were called upon by King Harald Hardrade of Norway. During this time, he became a fierce warrior, counted among the ranks of the Ulfsark berserkers, but his title couldn't save him from what was to come. At the Battle of Stamford Bridge, under a Viking banner they fought and were defeated. It was in the aftermath of this battle, having clawed his way from the ruined battlefied, in which Alexander Winter was embraced.

Alexander Winter followed the trend of many Gangrel of his day. With his natural talent for warfare and his protection through Haven of Soil, he wandered the European landscape. As a soldier of fortune, he followed the Normans during their conquest of England and continued to fight through the Hundred Year War between England and France. During this time, he sired a unique coterie of handpicked warriors, mostly of his own brothers in arms. Calling upon the Beast which resides within every Kindred, they would rend flesh and iron rejoicing in a flood of death, and feasting upon the slain. Because of this, they garnered a reputation among vampiric Princes in most provinces, who hired the coterie to help fight any manner of threat that required more strength and skill at arms than they had at their disposal and would accept exorbitant pay with the promise of taking down garrisons and rival lords with less than a company of men.

The savage nature that is known to all Gangrel had matured, making Alexander and his childer into a pure monsters when they fell into frenzy. Towards the end of the war, Alexander had reached the apex of his strength yet, he began to forget what he did when he frenzied, leading him to truly inhuman acts under the guidance of his Beast. By the end of the fifteenth century, the way in which wars were fought had changed and Alexander decided it was time to retire from the battlefield. He and his coterie would return to the north, establishing a haven in England, and claiming status among the covenants as "noble savages".

Seeing the order of his father, the Jomsvikings, in the Invictus, Alexander himself joined them in an effort to uphold the tenets which he valued. Adherence to a strict code of conduct in order to instill a sense of military discipline among its members, binding oneself to defend his brothers, as well as to avenge their deaths if necessary, to be forbidden to speak ill of his fellows or to quarrel with them, and forbidden to show fear or to flee in the face of an unworthy enemy. Accompanied by the freedom from the carnage of battle, Winter's contemplative nature surfaced, and given time, his demeanor changed from the Berserker he had been into the Noble he desired to be, yet his ancestry remains ever present.

Centuries later, with the advanced Blood Potency he had developed and the knowledge of the sleep to come, Winter embraced a number of childer:

An oppressed russian jew found at age 16, when she murdered her father. Embraced at age 19, with the murder her baby, husband, and in-laws.

Aaron Godfreid- Embraced 1890
British masonic occultist and pedophile, ghouled in 1885, and embraced with the ritual sacrifice and mutilation of his 13 year old daughter.

Thomas Marconi- Embraced 1891
Street criminal and single father in New York, embraced with the execution of several Mafia children, including his daughter.

Mitch O'Conner- Embraced 1892
Cut-throat businessman from Chicago, embraced with the rape and execution of his mother and sister.


They are now known as, Rebekkah Winter, Aaron Winter, Thomas Winter, and Mitch Winter.
All of Winter's childer are sworn to him, and he was sworn to Lord Edward Savage prior to entering torpor in 1906. Winter's childer have been serving Lord Savage, while awaiting for their Sire to once again awaken.
